Vision
The Department of Arabic Language at the College of Education is dedicated to preparing future educators and enhancing their linguistic and literary knowledge through a pedagogical and cultural approach that serves Iraqi society. The goal is to contribute to the advancement of education at various levels of secondary education, thereby supporting sustainable human development within the Iraqi community, and fostering meaningful engagement and openness with the broader Arab world.
This vision is based on the following principles:
1. Education is a dynamic and evolving human profession, both in knowledge and behavior.
2. The role of the teacher extends beyond mere transmission of knowledge; it includes fostering creativity through self-learning and collaborative teamwork.
3. Preparing competent teachers capable of achieving the goals of the educational process.
4. The Department’s role is not limited to teacher preparation, but also encompasses promoting the cultural and linguistic awareness of society as a whole.
Mission
The Department of Arabic Language aspires to prepare a generation that is academically, educationally, and culturally qualified to fulfill the goals of the educational system and is fully aware of the responsibilities this mission entails. The program maintains a strong connection to Arab and Islamic heritage, with graduates committed to advancing the educational and scientific landscape in Iraq. A key part of the mission is preserving the Arabic language—the language of the Qur'an—and ensuring its proper use and vitality. The department aims to develop students' cognitive and behavioral skills within this linguistic framework, by training educational staff at all levels to support both the educational process and broader societal development, ultimately contributing to the continuous progress of our beloved country.
