College of Education at the University of Fallujah Commemorates the Yazidi Genocide
In a gesture reflecting deep humanitarian and national commitment, the College of Education at the University of Fallujah, on the morning of Sunday, August 3, 2025, marked the annual anniversary of the genocide committed against members of the Yazidi community and several other original Iraqi components.
The event witnessed the college’s dean and teaching staff standing for a minute of silence in front of the college building, in remembrance of the innocent victims who perished in that tragedy, in solidarity with their families, and in affirmation of the importance of keeping this crime alive in the collective Iraqi consciousness.
The College of Education’s administration stressed that this initiative comes within the framework of the academic and ethical responsibility of educational institutions to instill the values of peaceful coexistence and reject all forms of extremism and hatred, emphasizing the need to respect Iraq’s cultural and religious diversity as a source of strength and richness for society.
The college reaffirmed its commitment to actively participating in national initiatives that contribute to building a society based on justice and citizenship, and to promoting a culture of peace and mutual respect among all Iraqis.
