Within the framework of academic and scientific cooperation between the College of Education at the University of Fallujah and the College of Education for Human Sciences at the University of Tikrit, the Head of the English Language Department at the College of Education, University of Fallujah, Assistant Professor Dr. Ayad Hamood Ahmed, participated on Wednesday, May 6, 2026, in the defense of the doctoral thesis titled:
“Women Empowerment In the Bible, Prophetic Hadith and CEDAW Convention: A Pragma-Sociolinguistic Study”
Submitted by the student Ayhan Abdul-Mun'im Ghafouri at the College of Education for Human Sciences – University of Tikrit.
The thesis conducted a pragma-sociolinguistic study of women's empowerment concepts in religious texts and international conventions. It analyzed the linguistic and cultural discourse in the Bible, the Prophetic Hadith, and the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW).
