In conjunction with National Afforestation Day, the President of the University of Fallujah, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, launched an afforestation campaign at the university's main site today, Thursday, March 12, 2026. Held under the slogan "Afforestation: A Step Toward a Sustainable University," the event was attended by the Vice President for Scientific Affairs, Professor Dr. Nahla Naji Hilal, and the Dean of the College of Education, Assistant Professor Dr. Shereen Hamed Farhan.

The University President inaugurated the campaign by planting several saplings across the gardens and facilities of the main campus. In his speech, he emphasized that this initiative aligns with the directives of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research to support environmental programs. He also highlighted its role in fostering an environmental culture among students and staff, contributing to a healthy, aesthetic, and sustainable university environment.
The campaign saw active participation from students, faculty, and staff members, who planted a variety of seedlings throughout the campus. This collective effort aims to expand green spaces and raise environmental awareness within the university community.
Notably, students from the College of Education took part by planting saplings in the college gardens, a move reflecting their environmental consciousness and commitment to enhancing the greenery of their campus.
